Begin with early morning pickup at your Singapore hotel, direction Malacca – the UNESCO-listed Malaysian state that was once the country’s busiest trading port.
On your arrival, after 3hrs drive, enjoy a delicious local Indian breakfast of Roti Canai (pancake with toppings), and Teh Tarik (pulled tea). Absorb the historical atmosphere and learn about the city’s Dutch, Portuguese, and British colonial heritage as you take in historical St. Paul’s Church on St Paul’s Hill, St. Francis Xavier statue, the Porta De Santiago fort, 18th-century Christ Church, and Queen Victoria Fountain.
See Malaysia’s oldest functioning temple – Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, as well as Kampung Kling Mosque with its Chinese-style Pagoda minaret, and peruse red-brick and Peranakan-style houses during a stroll along Jonker Street. Stop to sample some famous local pineapple pastries next to the Malacca River.

Make the scenic journey to Genting Highland. It is hard to believe you are still in the tropics as fresh and crisp mountain air surrounds you. Pluck your own strawberries and sample the freshest fruits nature has to offer. Refuel with a sumptuous local Chinese lunch of Nasi Goreng Cina (fragrant fried rice) and fresh strawberry smoothie, before continuing on to the Genting Highland lavender farm to smell and take photos of beautiful lavender flowers.

Next, head on to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital. Head first to the famous Batu Caves on the edges of Kuala Lumpur. View the Hindu shrines contained within these sacred caves, and then continue into the city to KL Tower. The observation deck of KL Tower offers spectacular views of the world-famous Petronas Twin Towers and the city. Then, admire five other must-sees of Kuala Lumpur – the National Palace, Sultan Abdul Samad (former supreme court and government offices of the British colonial administration), National Monument, National Mosque, Independence Square. Finally, head to a Malay-style food court and savor a tasty local Malay dinner of coconut-milk rice with fried chicken before returning to Singapore, where your tour finishes with a hotel, port, or airport drop-off at about 9pm, depending on traffic.
